Officers are appealing for information after a Land Rover and a tipper truck with tools were stolen from outside a property in Leek.
Officers were called to an address near Newcastle Road at 3.15am on Friday (28 January).
Offenders targeted a Ford Transit tipper vehicle containing tools when they found the keys to a blue Land Rover Discovery in the tipper.
Both vehicles were stolen and the Land Rover was located a short time later in the Burslem area.
The tipper vehicle is still outstanding.
In order to protect yourself and your vehicles from keyless vehicle thefts, officers advise:
- Consider purchasing a key security pouch (also known as a Faraday pouch) to keep your car entry devices in while inside the house. These block the ability of thieves to access the key signal
- Always check your car doors have locked after pressing your key fob
- Park in a garage if possible, or another secure area, where it is difficult to get the car out if accessed
- Consider using a steering wheel lock.
