Plans submitted to build new four bedroom home on this land in Cheddleton
A planning application has been submitted to construct a new four bedroom home in Cheddleton.
The plans, submitted to Staffordshire Moorlands District Council by a Mr & Mrs Shirley, relate to a site at 340 Outlands, Cheadle Road, Cheddleton.
The proposal seeks permission for "Proposed detached 4 bedroom dwelling on land adjacent to 340 Cheadle Road".
A statement prepared as part of the application provides more information about the plans.
It says: "The application is for a two storey four-bedroom house, built in a similar style to those in the surrounding area. It will be built with red/brown brick featuring a traditional brick arch over the entrance to the dwelling providing a sheltered porch with bay windows serving the lounge, snug and both bedroom windows on the front of the property.
"Roof lights will be fitted to project natural light onto the landing upstairs in the property, with roof lights on the rear of the property to provide natural light into the loft space. In addition to this there will be two glazed gables at the rear of the property projecting light into both bedrooms which lead out onto a balcony.
"On the ground floor a pyramid roof light will be fitted to brighten the kitchen alongside the bifold doors to provide as much natural light as possible. A double garage will also be built to match the style of the house and surrounding properties in red/brown brick providing additional parking for cars."
It concludes: "It is acknowledged that the application site lies within the Green Belt wherein there is a presumption that new dwellings are inappropriate development. The conditions and requirements of the section 106 agreement for the proposed redevelopment of the Staffordshire Farmers site (Pointon's Yard) will be finalised at some point in the hopefully near future, continuing the ribbon development within the green belt.
"However it must be pointed out that Prospect House (334 Cheadle Road) lies to the north of the application site, therefore regardless of the status of the Staffordshire Farmers site, the application site and the proposed new dwelling would be characterised as 'infill in a village location' and therefore should be approved as such."
The district council will have the final say on the plans at a later date.
