The ladies' toilets at Leek bus station have been closed until further notice due to a recent incident of "fire and vandalism" at the station.

Police were called to the station just after 7pm last night after part of the toilets was set on fire.

Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire, and police are now investigating the incident, as it is believed that the fire was started deliberately.

The toilets will now remain closed until further notice following the incident.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Moorlands District Council said: "The ladies toilet on the Smithfield centre (bus station), Leek are closed due to fire and vandalism until further notice."
