Biddulph and Leek are facing off in a friendly competition in aid of Red Nose Day this week.
In aid of Comic Relief, Biddulph Youth and Community Zone are going head to head with Haregate Community Centre in Leek, to see which town can submit the most miles from today (Monday) until Friday.
Residents of the two towns have been asked to walk, hop, skip or jump as many miles as they can this week, and then submit their miles to the community centre of whichever town they want to win!
The community centre which has the most miles by the end of the week will receive a prestigious "golden boot" and take home the bragging rights until next year.
A spokesperson for Biddulph Youth and Community Zone said: "Starting Monday 15th March until Friday 19th March, for comic relief week we are in competition with Haregate Community Centre in Leek, we need as many miles as you can do (car miles are not included).
"All you need to do, is go for a walk, jog, skip or jump. Tell us your route and we can work out the miles or if you know your miles let us know! We will need your name and postcode.
"Five Days to do as many miles as we can, the winning team gets the amazing 'Golden Boot' and bragging rights for a year. We'd love to see photos of your walk too. Send them in!
"Please share with all your friends - let's make Biddulph and The Zone the winners."
A spokesperson for Haregate Community Centre said: "Don't forget this week we need your miles, whether you've walked run cycled or bunny hopped so long as they weren't driven your miles will count!
"We just need your name, your postcode and proof of your miles. If you don't have access to trackers you can send us your start and end points and we can calculate the distances for you! How far can we go?"
