Police patrol Cheddleton bridge after reports of overweight vehicles trying to cross

Police in the Moorlands have been patrolling a bridge in Cheddleton on the lookout for any vehicles that are too heavy trying to cross it.

Officers say they have been keeping an eye on Basford Bridge Lane after receiving complaints of overweight vehicles trying to use the bridge today (Monday 18th October).

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police's Moorlands team said: "Responding to complaints of overweight vehicles using Basford Bridge Lane, Cheddleton.

"No vehicles seen today but we will keep paying attention to the problem."
