Local police officers have asked Leek residents to ensure all their sheds and garages are properly locked following a break-in in Leek.

Police said yesterday morning at around 8.30am (Sunday 15th May) that they received "reports of a shed break in the Leek area".

Officers also suggested getting shed alarms, as well as ensuring all of their valuable items are secured and not on display.

PCSO Dan Nettleton, of Staffordshire Police's Moorlands team, said: "Following reports of a shed break in the Leek area, it is a timely reminder to ensure sheds and garages are secured at all times when not in use.

"Shed alarms are also an option and will sound if entry is gained.

"Please ensure that valuable items are kept in out of view and secured safely."
