Police appeal after fatal collision in Leek

Officers from Staffordshire Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses after a woman died in a single-vehicle collision in Leek this morning (Saturday 7 May).

Police were called at 3.10am to Macclesfield Road, Leek, following reports of a collision involving a white Audi A3.

Officers attended the scene alongside colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and paramedics. A 31-year-old woman, from the Cheshire area, was found unresponsive inside of the vehicle.

Sadly, she was pronounced dead by paramedics a short time later.

Her family are being supported by specially-trained officers at this difficult time.

PC Martin Colclough, the officer in charge of the case, said "We would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened or those who may have relevant dashcam footage of the area at the time of the incident.
