Missing Leek 16-year-old found safe and well

A 16-year-old girl from Leek who recently went missing has been found safe and well.

Leek Nub News reported recently how Mary Jane Evans went missing at around 1am yesterday morning (Tuesday 15th February).

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said at the time: "We are becoming increasingly concerned for missing 16-year-old Mary Jane Evans from Leek.

"Mary was last seen on The Crescent, Leek, this morning (Tuesday 15 February) at around 1am.

"She is described as white, of a slim build, with short red hair and around 5ft'4in in height.

"Mary was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black trainers and blue jeans.

"She has connections in Leek.

"Anyone who has seen Mary or anyone with information about her whereabouts should call Staffordshire Police immediately on 101, quoting incident number 023 of 15 February."

However, she has now been found safe and well.

A police spokesperson said in an update: "Thank you for sharing our earlier appeal for missing Mary Jane Evans. They have now been found safe and well."
