Man who died in A523 Moorlands collision named

The man who died in a collision in Rushton Spencer has been named.

Police were called by the North West Ambulance Service at 3.55pm on Sunday (1 May) who reported a serious collision involving a car and a pedestrian on the A523 at Rushton Spencer.

Alec Heyworth, 23, of Smallwood in Cheshire, was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital with life-threatening head injuries.

Sadly, he died the following day (Monday 2 May).

His family continue to be supported by specially-trained officers and have asked for privacy at this difficult time.

Witnesses who may have seen the vehicle or pedestrian before the collision or anyone with relevant dashcam footage please message Staffordshire Police on Facebook or Twitter quoting incident number 316 of April. Alternatively, email the team direct at [email protected]
