Leek's new play area near Brough Park Leisure Centre is to close for painting to be carried out later this week.

Staffordshire Moorlands District Council announced that the play area will be closed tomorrow (Thursday) and on Friday to paint the play area's tarmac.

The council said the painting is "the final job" needed to complete the new playground, and thanked residents for their patience.

A council spokesperson said: "We're aiming (weather permitting) to paint the tarmac at the new play area in Brough Park this week.

"It will mean we'll have to close the area on Thursday and Friday whilst we carry out this final job to complete the renovation.

"Thanks, in advance, for your patience."
