A young people's charity in Leek is celebrating after being awarded more than £90,000 in funding from the National Lottery.

The young people's group, @21, says the funding will enable them to offer more activities and support.

The funding will be allocated over a period of three years.

The charity also says it has established an action group with the aim of also securing longer term funding.

A spokesperson for the charity said: "The community fund of the National Lottery has awarded @21 over £90,000 to be allocated over a period of three years.

"This generous donation will help put the charity on a secure financial footing, enable to us to increase the the number of sessions we provide each week and offer more activities.

"@21 has established an Action Group that will engage with local businesses to secure the longer term funding of the charity.

"The trustees would like to thank the Lottery Fund and Claire Johns from SCYVS whose assistance in completing the Lottery application was invaluable."
