Police in Leek are hoping to crack down on anti-social behaviour in the town by stepping up the number of local patrols they carry out.

Officers say they have received reports of anti-social behaviour in the town centre, and have decided to increase "high visibility foot patrols" in response.

Residents have been encouraged to come and say hello to any officers they might see out and about on patrol in Leek.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police's Moorlands team said: "Local officers have been increasing high visibility foot patrol in Leek Town Centre following reports of anti-social behaviour.

"Please say hello if you see officers out and about."
