Leek has been named as the nicest place to live in Staffordshire by a local property consultant.

Knutsford-based property consultant Garrington have published a list ranking 1,372 cities, towns and villages in the UK based on how nice they could be to live in following the Coronavirus pandemic.

Each area has been ranked based on factors including their natural beauty, quality of life and architectural beauty.

So where does Leek rank on the list?

Leek has placed at number 238 overall out of the 1,372 areas that were analysed across the UK - that is the highest ranking out of anywhere in Staffordshire!

The town ranked 417th for its natural beauty, but only 1,043rd for its quality of life.

However, the town's architectural beauty was where it really came into its own, ranking in 92nd place.

The average family home in the town costs up to £350,000, putting it at 78th out of the 661 areas in the same price band.

The least nice place to live in Staffordshire was Newcastle-under-Lyme, coming in as low as 1,145th out of 1,372.

The report claimed the nicest place to live in the whole of the UK was Bath, with the rest of the top 5 being made up by Tenby, Bradford on Avon, Ilfracombe and Canterbury.
