A man who pushed two police officers down a flight of stairs following a domestic incident in Leek has been jailed.
Michael Noble, 33, from Leek, was sentenced to 21 months behind bars after he punched and strangled two officers during an incident in April.
Police were called to the address after Noble refused to leave.
Two police officers went inside the address and spoke with Noble. They tried to remove him, but he resisted and became violent.
He punched the officers in an attempt to avoid being detained and put his hands around their necks on multiple occasions.
In the struggle, Noble forcefully pushed both of the officers down a flight of stairs.
Despite the assault, both officers continued bravely with their attempts to arrest Noble and managed to put handcuffs on him a short time later.
Whilst on the way to custody in the police car, Noble then bit another officer.
He was sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Wednesday 5 July for a number of offences, including assault by beating of an emergency worker, intentional strangulation and two counts of assault thereby occasioning actual bodily harm.
