Leek firefighters' charity car wash raises £1,800

Firefighters in Leek raised an amazing amount of money for a good cause this weekend by running a charity car wash.

The fundraising event was held at Leek Fire Station on Springfield Road on Saturday (28th May) from 10am - 4pm.

People were welcomed to come along and pay to have their car washed by the firefighters, with the money raised going to the Firefighters' Charity and the Kieran Rutter Legacy Foundation.

The fundraiser was a big success, with a whopping £1,800 being raised and split between the two charities.

There was also be a raffle with a range of fabulous prizes including a spa experience, free photoshoots and makeovers, and vouchers for a wide range of local businesses and experiences.

Congratulations to the Leek firefighters on raising such a fantastic amount!

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Colleagues at Leek Fire Station spent their Saturday washing cars for charity and managed to raise a whopping total of £1,800 for two deserving causes.

"The money will now be split between the Fire Fighter's Charity and the Kieran Rutter Legacy Fund. Well done everyone!"
