Members of Leek Hockey Club came together at the weekend to show support and raise money for two charities very close to their hearts.

Just over £1,500 was raised by the club with a fancy dress hockey game, raffle and cake sale.

The money has been split between Cancer Research UK and Maggie's, who offer amazing support for those with cancer or people who's loved ones have cancer.

The game saw members of all ages play in a good spirited friendly, whilst the spectators watching enjoyed hot drinks and delicious cakes.

A spokesperson from the club said: "The hockey family at Leek wanted to come together and show our love and support for our team mates who are battling cancer."
