Petrol stations in Leek have been intermittently running out of fuel over the weekend, but the issues now seem to be resolved with stations fuelled up again and welcoming customers to fill up.
The national problem has also affected Leek, with long queues for petrol stations over the weekend as well as petrol station closures.
The petrol station at Morrison's in Leek ran out of fuel yesterday (Sunday 26th September), and a sign was put up outside the station that said "No Fuel Available".
However, the Government has repeatedly urged people not to stockpile fuel, and said there was no fuel shortage, and that the issue is in fact a shortage of HGV drivers to deliver the fuel to petrol stations.
The problem seems to have been resolved for now in Leek, with residents reporting that the town's petrol stations, including Morrison's and Esso on Ashbourne Road are stocked up with fuel.
Elsewhere locally however, the problems have continued.
Sainsbury's petrol station in Biddulph and Essar in Knypersley have both been closed today (Monday 27th September) due to a lack of fuel.
Today, cones have been placed in front of the pumps at the Essar Garage in Knypersley, while a sign saying "Sorry No Fuel" has been put up in front of the petrol station at Sainsbury's.
The issue is also continuing on a national level, with it being reported today that the Prime Minister is considering bringing in the army to help with the crisis.
