A Cheddleton pub is celebrating after receiving a special award from CAMRA (the campaign for real ale) at the weekend.
The Red Lion Cheddleton was named Pub of the Season for Winter 2021 by the Staffordshire Moorlands branch of CAMRA, and were presented with a plaque and trophy on Saturday (13th November).
A spokesperson for the pub thanked their staff and customers after receiving the award.
They said: "Lovely day today receiving our award from Camra for Pub of the Season 2021.
"Seemed only fitting that a member of our staff Leanne Smith should be in the picture rather than us as we couldn't do it without all our staff - we are very proud of you all and thank you to our lovely customers."
A post on social media announcing the award has since received over 100 'likes' and comments.
One resident commented: "Well done, and your staff are brilliant."
Another added: "Always a brilliant pint and a good laugh."
While a third said: "Well done to you and the team."
Several other local pubs have also recently been named in the latest edition of the CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2022. Including:
- Black Lion, Cheddleton
- Blue Mugge, Leek- Fountain Inn, Leek
- Roebuck, Leek- Wilkes Head, Leek
