THE ROLE:
As the Welding Bay Foreman, you will be responsible for all steel processing, fabrication & welding within the welding shop and sectors of the factory.
Your main priority will be the planning of daily activities for your staff and ensuring that quality and performance criteria is upheld. You will need to have an excellent understanding of 3D angle projection drawings with a basic knowledge of Autodesk drafting software. Your ability to communicate effectively between all levels of the company is a must as you will be in daily discussions with senior management and production staff.
You will be required to organise CNC plasma daily operations to ensure optimum efficiency is achieved. A strong welding and fabrication background is essential, as it will be your job to make daily decision around any welding and fabrication related issues. Having the ability to lead people is essential as it will be your responsibility to teach, train and coach new and existing staff and promote a conscientious, quality driven, and safe work environment. You will need to be hands on as the role will require you to be amongst the action.

Update and complete all records appropriately.

Monitor and maintain all safety equipment and tools.

Conduct risk assessments of processes within the department.

Manage work order closures and stock control transaction.

Have a great understanding of welding, fabrication and plasma cutting.

Plan daily work, based on production requirements.

Conduct quality control on manufactured items.
