SALARY

• 15.00 to 18.00 per hour (dependant on experience).
• DAYS ROLE - 40-hour week.
• Monday to Friday.
• Uncapped overtime scheme.

JOB SUMMARY

We are currently working with our highly regarded client within the Engineering industry in the Leek/Staffordshire area. Looking for a skilled and experienced Manual Machinist / Toolmaker with Vertical Boring experience to join their ever-expanding team or precision engineers. You will be required to operate manual lathes, milling machines and drills, as such you should have previous experience operating turning, milling, and drilling machines. To manufacture high quality precision engineered parts for the industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Making one-offs and small batches of complex precision machined components from various materials.
• Accurately inspecting and measuring components using various inspection equipment including, but not limited to, Micrometres, Verniers and Plug Gauges.
• Set up and operate manual machines, you would be required to set and operate machines such as lathes and mills including Capstan Lathes, Ward 7, Colchester, Bridgeport etc.
• Proficient in reading engineering manufacturing drawings to produce parts and components.
• Ability to work to very high tolerances.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Have relevant knowledge, training and experience working in the machine environment.
• Time-served and indentured to ONC & HNC, NVQ or equivalent qualifications.
• Able to communicate in a clear, concise, logical manner both verbally and written.
• Be self-motivated to work individually but adaptable to work as part of a team.
