We currently have an opportunity for a Maintenance Technician based at our site in Leek, Staffordshire. The site is undergoing investment for the future including equipment and infrastructure. The role involves working as part of a small multi skilled team to perform routine maintenance procedures and help troubleshoot and quickly repair any mechanical or electrical problems with the manufacturing processes and supporting equipment and systems. Day-to-day tasks can vary greatly based priorities and requires working closely with the maintenance, operations, quality, and engineering teams. The role will also involve interaction with specialised external contractors with the overall aim to allow production to operate safely and efficiently. The role is days based Monday to Friday with an on call rota out of hours.

Essentials:

  • Commitment to maintaining high safety, health & environmental standards
  • A recognised electrical or mechanical qualification at level 3 or above
  • Have the ability to work as part of a team to solve problems contributing your knowledge and valuing the knowledge of others
  • Good written and verbal communicator, able to demonstrate an eye for detail
  • Competence in basic IT skills such as email, web applications or other IT systems
  • Commitment to ongoing training & development
  • Able to demonstrate initiative, and a willingness to ask questions

Desirables:

  • Knowledge of chemical, process or pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Working with electronic maintenance management systems
  • Knowledge of DSEAR and experience of maintenance under these regulations
  • Knowledge of steam generation and distribution systems, pressure systems and the associated safety controls.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation for pressure, temperature, flow, level etc.
