Wilko has become the latest store chain to announce the closure of all its stores - including the one in Leek - on Boxing Day.

The business says all of its 416 stores around the country will be closed on 26th December to allow staff to spend time with family and friends.

It's the latest of several retailers to announce that it will be closed on Boxing Day, including M&S, Home Bargains, Poundland, Sainsbury's, Aldi and Morrisons.

A spokesperson for Wilko said: "As a family owned retailer, Wilko understands the importance of spending quality time with loved ones and after such a difficult year, Wilko has decided to give all its team members a day off on 26 December to spend with their families this Christmas."
