A new hit film has recently been released that includes several scenes shot in Leek!

'The Colour Room' was released earlier this month on Sky Cinema. It is based on the life of 1920s and 30s ceramic artist Clarice Cliff.

The film tells the story of how Clarice broke the glass ceiling in the ceramics industry and went against the ideas at the time of how women should work, revolutionising the workplace at a pottery factory in 1920s England.

Clarice is played by Phoebe Dynevor, who played Daphne Bridgerton in the wildly popular Netflix series Bridgerton - although the role in The Colour Room is her feature film debut.

Several of the scenes in the film were filmed in Leek, including filming which took place at Foxlowe Arts Centre, which was transformed into a movie set while the filming was conducted.

Many scenes were also filmed in Stoke-on-Trent, and Rachel Shenton, an actress from Caverswall, also stars in the film.

The film was released on 12th November and is available now on Sky Cinema.
