Police have thanked members of the public for their assistance after a missing woman was found safe.

Nub News reported previously how officers had asked for the public's help in finding 50-year-old Tanya Machin.

She had gone missing after last being seen at around 5pm on Wednesday 2nd March.

Police said at the time: "Tanya is described as white, of slim build, with shoulder length blonde hair and green eyes.

"It is believed that she is wearing a black beret, black coat and trousers.

"If you've seen Tanya or know of her whereabouts, please contact Staffordshire Police on 101 or send them a private message on social media, quoting incident number 580 of 2nd March."

Fortunately, in an update today (Friday 4th March), police confirmed that she has now been found.

They said: "Following our previous appeal, missing Tanya Machin has been found safe.

"We would like to thank the public for their help and assistance."
