Leek is one of many areas that can now experience the full advantages of ultrafast fibre broadband, wholesale network provider Fibre Heroes has said after carrying out work in the town.
The provider, which was set up in 2017 with the goal of providing underserved towns with faster broadband, says it aimed to achieve as little disruption throughout the build as possible while carrying out a high quality build with minimum fuss.
They added that residents and businesses should now be able to enjoy ultraHD streaming with minimal buffering, multidevice usage without disruption, and internet browsing unaffected by 'peak' hours with speeds of up to 1 Gigabit per second.
Fibre Heroes Area General Manager, Chris Williams, commented: "We understood Leek's frustration with slow internet. It's been a primary focus of ours to ensure the build reached Leek and the town could access ultrafast broadband for better digital opportunities.
"We are proud to say we have speedily built a full fibre network that will serve residents and businesses in Leek for the foreseeable future."
The provider says that Leek now has the capability of boasting future-proof technology that will serve generations to come.
