In a heart-warming act of compassion, a local Leek business is offering free weddings to anyone facing terminal or life changing conditions.

Mayor Cllr Lyn Swindlehurst and Town Crier, Bill Lomas, visited business start up Leek Weddings.

The proprietor, Emma and her team offer free-of-charge weddings for people facing terminal or life changing conditions by working with numerous generous supporters and volunteers.

A spokesperson for Leek Town Council commended the local business for their generosity.

They said: "Their venue is beautiful and provides absolutely everything. Please call in and see for yourself.

"Yet another group of people in our wonderful community with commitment to helping others.

"Thank you Emma and everyone involved. As the Town Cryer so eloquently put it in his cry, 'You can give without loving but you can't love without giving'."

The business is based on Unit 8 & 9 Town Yard Business Park, Station Street, Leek.
