There's a huge range of interesting and fun activities taking place all over the county around Staffordshire Day.

Staffordshire Day itself is on Sunday May 1st but there are events taking place on plenty of other days near to that date.

There are events scheduled all over Staffordshire - but this is Leek Nub News so we are most interested in what's going on in Leek!

There's loads going on in the town to celebrate, so here are all of the events taking place in Leek for Staffordshire day...

Staffordshire Moorlands Walking Festival

Date: 22nd April - 2nd May

About: "Join us for an 11 day walking festival with our knowledgeable guides and walk leaders sharing their love of walking and a passion for the history, wildlife and beauty of the Staffordshire Moorlands landscape and its historic market towns. All walks are free, so there's no excuse not to join us."

A look at Leek's fascinating heritage

Date: 28th April

About: "Part of Staffordshire Moorlands Walking Festival 2022. A fascinating walk around Leek, guided by historian Cathryn Walton, looking at buildings and discovering the people who helped to shape this remarkable town. Magnificent Victorian buildings and elegant Georgian houses, silk mills, courts and yards."

Staffordshire Day InstaMeet: Leek

Date: 1st May

About: "Take a tour of Leek's most Instagrammable spots and learn about the town's fascinating history on this guided walk, lead by expert guide Cath Walton.

"This free, 90 minute tour will start at the Nicholson War Memorial (aka 'The Monument') and visit Leek's architectural gems, including the Nicholson Institute, Getliffe's Yard, the Foxlowe Arts Centre, and St Edward's Church, as well as the beautiful backdrops of Brough Park.

"Mostly flat, apart from an incline to Brough Park. This tour is capped to 20 people so book now via Eventbrite."

Staffs Moorlands 3 Peaks Challenge Upper Hulme

Date: 1st May

About: "To celebrate Staffordshire Day, and as part of Staffordshire Moorlands Walking Festival, this walk will visit the 3 highest peaks in the County, fortunately they're all in the Staffordshire Moorlands. You'll need to bring enough to drink and eat during the walk, perhaps even a local oatcake or two. This is a challenging walk, with some great Moorland views. It might be something that you choose to get sponsored for a good cause, but that's up to you!"

Date: 1st May
