Police have appealed for information after being made aware of people begging in Leek town centre.
After receiving reports of begging taking place in the town centre, officers are "urging anyone who has been subject to this behaviour" to report it to the police.
In an appeal sent out this afternoon (Tuesday, 1st June), police said that begging "is not tolerated" and is "treated seriously" by local officers.
PCSO Dan Nettleton, of Staffordshire Police's Moorlands team, urged anyone with information to get in touch with them.
He said: "Staffordshire Police are aware of certain persons responsible for begging in Leek Town Centre.
"We are now urging for anyone who has been subject to this behaviour to come forward and report direct to Staffordshire Police via 101 or via our online reporting.
"This behaviour is not tolerated and will be treated seriously by our local officers."
