Police are investigating after a group of youths were seen "letting off a firework" near Leek bus station.

Officers say they are investigating an incident of "anti-social behaviour" that happened yesterday evening (12th October) near Ashbourne Road.

It comes after a local resident reported that a group set off a firework near the bus station before running away.

They said: "Well done to the silly teenagers setting off a firework in the bus station tonight. The fire brigade were out having to put out what you ran away from."

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "Officers were called to reports of anti-social behaviour on the evening of Tuesday 12 October.

"At 8:30pm, it is believed that a group of males were engaging in anti-social behaviour near Ashbourne Road, Leek.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
