Officers in Leek have donated gifts to a local community centre in time for Christmas.
Officers from Staffordshire Moorlands Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT), attended Haregate Community Centre, based on Queens Drive in Leek on Monday (20 December) to present them with gifts including furniture, cooking appliances and tools.
The items have since been distributed to those in need in the community.
The centre, a community-run building, provides a number of friendship, support and wellbeing groups for local residents to attend each week.
PCSO Simon Long, of Moorlands NPT, said: "Many people have faced financial hardship and uncertainty this year, and so this Christmas, we want to continue to do all we can to help those in need.
"We hope this will bring smiles to people's faces and remind them that they are cared for, whatever their situation."
Laura Cottingham, manager at the Haregate Community Centre, said: "Many families we have heard from at the centre say they have really struggled financially and have been placed under even more pressure with the expense of this time of year.
"We're very grateful that local officers took time to visit us and donate the gifts which will make a huge difference to the families and groups who visit our centre."
