Police arrest suspected drink driver and man involved in collision in weekend of Leek action

Leek police arrested a man for drink driving, and another man involved in a separate road traffic collision in a busy weekend of action around the town.
On Saturday afternoon (8th May), Leek police, assisted by a plain clothes officer, arrested a man for drink driving in the Cheddleton area.
He was retained in custody awaiting charge.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police's Moorlands team said: "This afternoon, officers from Leek Neighbourhood Policing team assisted by a plain clothes officer have arrested a male for drink driving in the Cheddleton area.
"The driver is currently in custody awaiting charge."
In a separate incident, police also arrested a man who was involved in a road traffic collision in Leek on Sunday (9th May).
The collision took place on Duke Street, and the man was released under investigation.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police's Moorlands team said: "This morning local officers received a report of a Road Traffic Collision on Duke Street, Leek.
"The driver of the vehicle has been arrested under S.4 of the Road Traffic Act, driver has been released under investigation pending further enquiries."
