Police arrest 35-year-old Leek man at Westwood Recreation Ground on suspicion of knife and drug possession

A Leek man who was arrested on suspicion of knife and drug possession has been bailed while police investigate.
Officers attended the Westwood Recreation Ground after witnesses reported a man acting aggressively towards members of the public.
The incident took place on Sunday evening (3rd July).
A 35-year-old man was arrested and has since been given conditional bail pending police investigation.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police told Nub News: "A man has been arrested following reports of a man in possession of a knife in Leek.
"Officers attended Westwood Road at 10pm on Sunday (3 July).
"Witnesses described a man approaching pedestrians and acting aggressively.
"Shortly after, officers located a man who was also found to be in possession of small quantity of class B drugs.
"A 35-year-old man, from Leek, was arrested on suspicion of possessing a knife blade / sharp pointed article in a public place and possessing a controlled drug of class B.
"He has since been given conditional police bail pending investigation.
"Inquiries are ongoing."
