Police have appealed for information after arresting a man on suspicion of assault last night (Monday 24th January).

Officer say the arrest was made after a report was been received of an assault in the Leek area.

Police have now asked anyone with any information to contact them.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police's Moorlands team said: "Leek Police have arrested a male tonight for assault.

"A report has been received of an assault in the Leek area.

"The other party has been spoken to by officers and is safe and well.

"Police are aware of a video circulating and ask anyone with information to come forward.

"These types of incident are rare in our community and we will take positive action when we can.

"Incident number 717- 24/01/22 relates."
