A planning application has been submitted to construct a drive-thru restaurant on vacant land on Mill Street in Leek.
The plans were recently submitted to Staffordshire Moorlands District Council, but residents have been left in the dark about what the outlet could be, with it only ever being described in the plans as a "drive-thru restaurant" and no specific brand names given.
Leek Nub News reported recently how KFC revealed their hopes of opening a new drive-thru branch in Leek at some point.
However it has not been confirmed whether this new planning application is intended to become a KFC.
A planning statement prepared on behalf of the applicant doesn't give many clues. It says: "The building has been designed to follow the modern appearance of other drive through restaurants.
"The plans show a modern mono-pitch building. The proposed materials include brickwork and full height glazing to the entrance and side elevations of the building.
"The site has a single point of access and egress from Mill Street leading to parking bays for people eating in and the access around the building for vehicles using the drive through facility.
"The drive through collection points are on the rear of the building adjoining the side elevation of Wesleyan Court."
Staffordshire Moorlands District Council will have the final say on the application at a later date.
