A planning application to convert a Leek shop into a residential home has been approved.
The application relates to the Wash-Vacs of Leek shop on Broad Street, with Staffordshire Moorlands District Council's planning officers granting approval to the plans this week.
The officers' planning report states that the shop is currently vacant, and the plans will also see the replacement of all the premises' windows and doors, and the removal of concrete render from the front and rear of the property.
The report adds: "The loss of a shop premises in this town centre location does not affect neighbourhood access to supplies and services.
"The use of the building as a single dwelling in common with the rest of the row is fully suitable.
"The more limited yard style private amenity space to the rear is not unusual in these types of older properties."
The plans show that the shop area on the ground floor would be converted into a living and kitchen area, while the first floor would be used as a bedroom and bathroom, with the second floor being used for another bedroom.
