Pay boost for Leek B&M staff after bargain store's bumper Christmas

Staff at Leek's B&M store are set to receive a pay boost after the bargain retailer enjoyed bumper Christmas sales.

The business reportedly recorded around £1.4 billion worth of sales over the Christmas period, and has decided to share some of that with its many thousands of staff.

Workers in the Leek store and those around the rest of the country will receive an extra week's wages to thank them for their work over Christmas.

However, the pay boost pales in comparison to the bonus B&M boss Simon Arora paid to himself - an eye-watering £30 million.

Discussing the company's successful Christmas period, he said: ""Our decision to take receipt of imported Christmas stock early in the season meant we were able to provide customers with great products at great prices."
