A new shop specialising in all things dogs is getting ready to welcome the first customers through its doors in Leek this weekend.

Barks & Co, which already has stores open in Staffordshire, Cheshire and Derbyshire, will be opening a new premises at 5-7 Sheep Market from 10am on Sunday (6th November).

Barks & Co founder Catherine O'Sullivan told Nub News that they were excited to meet all their new customers and their four-legged companions.

She said: "Barks & Co is a well established independent business specialising in all things Dog. We have 4 stores across Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Cheshire. Leek will be our 5th store, In addition to the stores we are also online and have a strong customer base/following.

"As a team we are very excited to bring Barks & Co to Leek, thus far we have received a warm welcome from local businesses and the community alike.

"We are situated at 5-7 Sheep Market. Our Official opening is 10am Sunday 6th November. We look forward to meeting lots of new customers and their furry friends."

Catherine has also competed at Crufts and launched her own dog training club, called Active Paws.

She also started her very own doggy bakery, which supplies many outlets around the UK.
