A new hearing business is set to open soon in Leek after its Cheshire branches proved successful.
Ridgways Hearing Care has recently opened a branch in Alsager as well as a branch in Sandbach, taking over a building which was formerly a decorating shop.
The business specialises in hearing assessments, hearing aids/devices, ear wax removal, hearing accessories, ear healthcare checks, hearing aid repair and tinnitus management.
Now the business say that following the success of their recent new branches they are next aiming to come to Leek, with a branch planned for the Staffordshire town in the new year.
They also have existing branches in Newcastle-under-Lyme and Endon.
Owner, audiologist Alison Ridgway, says the response to the Alsager branch has been very positive.
"It's a big step sometimes for people to come in and ask for a hearing test," she said.
"Being able to hear in a crowded room can be a struggle for some people.
"It does make a big difference when people can hear properly. It's clinically proven that there is a link between dementia and hearing loss.
"We would say if you're over 60, you should get your hearing testing regularly."
Alison has a wealth of experience having worked for the NHS as an audiologist at Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Macclesfield District General Hospital and Trafford Park.
She added: "We offer some services which may not be available on the NHS.
"There is a high demand for our services. We put a lot of focus on customer care and provide aftercare which is important."
Alison says today's hearing aids are discreet and fit neatly, offering connections to your phone or TV.
"It's the first time we have had a branch on the high street and it's going very well.
"People are welcome to pop-in and have a chat with us. We're also looking to open more branches after Leek."
