A new coffee shop could soon be coming to Leek town centre after a licensing application was submitted to Staffordshire Moorlands District Council.
A pavement license application was submitted to the council by the coffee shop chain Coffee#1.
The application relates to the old Edinburgh Woollen Mill premises on 2-4 Derby Street in Leek, and seeks permission to lay out tables and chairs on the pavement in front of the building.
The plans explain that the furniture will be comprised of "outdoor tables and chairs for consumption of food and drink".
It asks for permission to have furniture placed on the pavement between 9am and 7pm on Mondays to Saturdays, and between 9am and 6pm on Sundays.
The Coffee#1 website also lists Leek as one of its new store locations opening in 2022.
The website states: "The Coffee#1 family is ever expanding and we have some exciting new store openings coming in 2022! Be sure to keep an eye out as we could be coming to a location near you."
Four locations were then listed - these being Leek, Buxton, Salisbury and Epsom.
Also, the Coffee#1 website careers section is currently recruiting for an Assistant Store Manager in Leek.
Discussing the Coffee#1 business, the website states: "Opening our doors in 2001 and inspired by the prospect of giving customers a more complete experience, Coffee#1 has remained true to the values we established on day one and that's to make it locally loved - serving great coffee made by talented baristas, in a relaxed and welcoming environment where your time is your own."
