A Macclesfield chef who appeared on national TV in Gordon Ramsay's recent BBC cooking competition is now serving customers regularly in Leek after his pop-ups in the town proved popular.

Jamie Savage (36), who runs Savages Mussels in the Macclesfield Picturedrome, was a contestant on the recent BBC One show Gordon Ramsay's Future Food Stars.

The ex-Navy chef founded his seafood business in 2018, and was one of the first vendors to open in The Picturedrome in 2019.

Before this, he was also a regular at Macclesfield's Treacle Market, and had a two-year residency at Altrincham Market.

We reported previously how Jamie came to the Den Engel bar on Stanley Street in Leek for a series of pop-ups.

And after the pop-ups were a success, Jamie has now decided to come to Leek on a more regular, twice weekly basis.

The seafood chef said on social media: "As of this week, Savages Mussels will be serving Den Engel Leek every Thursday and Friday from 5pm - 9pm.

"Really excited to have another kitchen going and spreading the mussel love! See you soon!"

Jamie serves creative dishes with mussels and fish, including popcorn mussels and a mussel burger.

Similar to BBC One's The Apprentice but with food, Gordon Ramsay's Future Food Stars, broadcast back in March 2022, had contestants vying to win a £150,000 investment from Gordon.
