Man arrested after series of shopliftings in Leek town centre

A man has been arrested following a series of shopliftings in Leek town centre, Staffordshire Police say.

Officers explained that several supermarkets in the town had been targeted in the string of thefts.

The man is currently in custody and police say they are currently making enquiries.

PCSO Rebecca Gorman, of Staffordshire Police's Moorlands team, said: "Following a series of shopliftings in Leek town centre where numerous supermarkets were targeted, a male has been arrested and is currently in custody.

"Enquiries are ongoing and positive action will be taken."
