Leek's Twilight Market will return next month under the supervision of Leek Town Council after Staffordshire Moorlands District Council decided not to continue with the event, a town councillor has said.
The popular evening market will return on Friday December 9th from 5pm - 8.15pm, alongside the usual Butter and Trestle Markets.
There will be a bar, hot food, and live music to enjoy. There will also be a Santa for the little ones to meet.
Cllr Matt Swindlehurst, Chair of Events at Leek Town Council, said: "Following SMDC's decision not to continue with their very successful Twilight Market, Leek Town Council's Events Committee have taken it over.
"We couldn't let this very popular event just disappear, so the Town Council have agreed to take over the staging of the event.
"We want to thank SMDC officers for ensuring we received a full briefing, and the Butter Market traders for their support.
"There will be lots of independent traders, as well as all your favourite stalls in the Butter Market. T
"The event will include live music, a popup bar, and a seating area where you can meet up with friends or just have a rest!"
