Leek's traditional Wednesday market has been welcomed back by Town Mayor, Stephen Wales, and Town Crier, Bill Lomas, in his first time out in his green regalia since the beginning of the November lockdown.

To mark the occasion, Bill made a special "LEEK ALIVE" call, which you can listen to on Spotify.

There was, as usual, a warm reception from Leekensiens and donations have started to roll in once again to support Bill's charity fundraising.

A number of town councillors joined Bill during the day as well as Stephen Wales.

"It was a beautiful day," said Stephen. It was good to see the market up and running again."

All going well, Bill will be back in Derby Street on Saturday with his usual pocket full of treats for the kids.
