A Leek school has been forced to close after a case of Coronavirus was confirmed in three different year groups.
Three cases have been confirmed at Churnet View Middle School in Leek - one in each of Year 5, 6 and 7.
Students in these three years have now been told to isolate until returning to school on Tuesday, with Year 8 students also being asked not to attend the school, despite not having to isolate.
Students in the three affected years will only have to isolate for four days due to the cases being tracked back to Friday last week. The three pupils who tested positive have not been in school this week as a precautionary step, and the school has only just been made aware of the positive tests.
The school's head teacher, Steve Fryer, said: "We have followed the national guidance and, following a risk assessment with Public Health England (PHE), advisers have identified that your child may have been in close contact with an individual who has received a positive test result for coronavirus.
"Three Churnet View Middle School pupils, across year groups 5, 6 and 7, have tested positive for coronavirus. Therefore, all pupils in year groups 5, 6 & 7 must now isolate until and including Monday June 28.
"They will be able to return to school on Tuesday, June 29. If your child is well at the end of the self-isolation period, then they can return to their usual activities and attend school as normal.
"As the impact of this is so considerable, the decision to close the school to our Year 8 pupils has also been a necessary measure to take. Therefore, Year 8 must not attend school on Friday and Monday."
