A Leek oatcake shop was given a shout-out by a famous face in the culinary world this weekend!

Celebrity chef Tom Kerridge posted a picture of Haywood Street's Leek Oatcakes on his Facebook page, and the post was met with a huge reaction from his fans.

The post has since received over 5,000 likes, 900 comments and 100 shares, with countless people commenting praise for the shop, oatcakes and Leek.

Tom explained in the caption that Leek was his wife's home town, and that he enjoyed oatcakes with bacon and cheese.

One person commented: "Cannot beat a Staffordshire oatcake, cheddar cheese, bacon and brown sauce for breakfast!"

Another added: "You need to visit Leek the first Sunday of the month as that's when the fabulous Sunday Supplement makers' market is on. All local artists, makers and food producers. Well worth a visit."

While a third said: "My daughter moved to Staffordshire and soon introduced us to the delights of oatcakes - cannot understand how they have not skipped over the border to the West Midlands - they are amazing and so versatile!"

Tom Kerridge is a Michelin starred chef who has appeared on multiple well-known TV shows, including the Great British Menu, MasterChef and Saturday Kitchen.

With his wife Beth Cullen-Kerridge, he opened the pub, The Hand & Flowers in 2005 and within a year gained his first Michelin star. In the 2012 list, he won a second Michelin star, the first time a pub had done so. Tom then went on to open a second pub in Marlow, The Coach, which has also won a Michelin star. More recently Tom opened The Butcher's Tap (butchers and pub under one roof) and opened his first London restaurant in 2018 at Corinthia Hotel London.
