A Leek man is set to raise an incredible total of £20,000 in aid of a local charity after completing the London marathon this month.
Leek Nub News reported previously how Paul Lockett was taking on the world famous marathon in memory of his dad Alan and brother James, who both passed away late last year.
James had been aiming to raise £10,000 for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice, and Paul ran the marathon with the aim of completing his brother's goal.
James was was able to raise an amazing total of £6,742 before he died, and Paul had set himself the target of raising the remaining £3,258 to complete James's £10,000 goal.
However, thanks to Paul's efforts and the support of the people of Leek, the £10,000 total was smashed with over £13,000 now being raised.
But now in an amazing act of generosity a couple have offered to make the total up to £20,000 - doubling the total that James and Paul had originally dreamed of raising.
The fundraiser is still live, and if you would like to donate click here.
