A Leek cafe has received praise after announcing it is freezing its menu prices despite the prices of many other items all over the country increasing.

Mill Street Kitchen announced yesterday (Monday 22nd August) that they were delaying the release of their new menu in order to make sure their prices could remain the same until November.

The local cafe explained that they had brought in the price freeze despite their suppliers increasing their own prices.

They added that they wanted to support their customers at a time when the prices of almost everything else are increasing.

A spokesperson for the cafe said: "We were due to have our new menu come out next month but with all the price increases across the country we have decided to keep our prices frozen until November.

"Despite everything going up (our suppliers have put their prices up) it's the least we can do to support all our customers and do our little bit to help the people of Leek.

"Thank you so much for all your support - from Dave, Tommo and the Mill Street Kitchen team."

The cafe has since received praise for their decision, with a social media post announcing the price freeze receiving hundreds of likes and comments.

One resident commented: "My friend treated me to lunch at your place and it was bloody lovely! Would recommend to anyone."

Another said: "Totally love Mill Street Kitchen. Top service includes feeding a massive house full of guests on the morning of my wedding! You guys are the best."

While a third added: "Brilliant food and service, highly recommended."
