A popular building society with branches across Staffordshire has raised thousands of pounds for local causes.

On 15 September, Leek Building Society hosted a Charity Golf Day to raise funds for its Charitable Foundation - a charity dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged people locally.

£2,700 was raised and will be used by the Foundation to provide grants to local charities and community groups across Staffordshire, Cheshire, Shropshire and Derbyshire.

Speaking about the event, Rob Longmore, HR Director at Leek Building Society, said, "We're overwhelmed by the support and generosity shown by our contacts and local businesses that have helped us to raise such a tremendous amount for our Charitable Foundation. I'd also like to offer our thanks to the team at Westwood Golf Club for the use of their excellent facilities and helping us to host such an enjoyable day."

Leek Building Society staff enjoyed a day of golf and raised £2,700 for vital causes (Leek Building Society).

Commenting on their involvement in the building society's Charity Golf Day, Valerie Shaw at Westwood Golf Club, said, "It was a privilege for us to not only be part of the Leek's Golf Day, but to have had the Society use our facilities for their successful fundraising event during our centenary. What a wonderful achievement and great testament to Leek Building Society's service to the local community."
