A Leek auction house has volunteered to become a collection point for residents to donate aid for Ukraine.
Bury and Hilton Auctions, whose office is located on Market Street, are working with a Ukrainian aid collection organisation to accept essential items needed in the country following the Russian invasion.
A spokesperson for the auction house said: "We are working with Macclesfield Ukrainian aid collection. They deliver the aid to Manchester on a Friday, and it is then being sent to Zakarpattia, Ukraine."
Zakarpattia is the westernmost region of Ukraine and shares borders with Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania.
The auction house added: "All the aid will be used for regular deliveries made from the UK to the Hungarian border and then to Ukrainian volunteers who work with the refugees directly. A friend of a member of staff who has family in Ukraine has organised the shipping of items, so we are happy that the items donated will actually reach the refugees."
