Leek's Asda supermarket has applied to Staffordshire Moorlands District Council for permission to open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The application was made to the district council's licensing team in relation to the Asda supermarket on Springfield Road, Leek.

The application reads: "To vary the opening hours to 00.00 to 24.00 Monday to Sunday."

The supermarket is currently open from 7am - 10pm on Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.

A public consultation period was held for the application, although this ended last week on July 15th, meaning comments from the public will no longer be accepted.

A decision on the application will be made by the district council's licensing team at a later date.

If you would like to view the application and any other recent licensing applications made to the council, visit the licensing section of the district council's website.
